How do trading limits work on Relai EU🇪🇺?

Relai EU uses a two-tier trading system. Your limits are based on your lifetime trading volume — the total amount you've bought and sold since creating your account.

Written by Paolo

Tier 1 — Up to €10,000

When you sign up, you enter your home address. No additional documents are required at this stage. You can buy and sell Bitcoin up to €10,000 in total lifetime volume.

Tier 2 — Above €10,000

To continue trading beyond €10,000, you'll need to upload a Proof of Address (PoA) document.

You won't be caught off guard — Relai sends proactive notifications as you approach your limit:

  • At €5,000 — you'll receive an email reminder

  • At €7,500 — you'll receive an email and an in-app notification

Once your PoA is verified, your limit increases to €50,000 per rolling 30-day window.

How to unlock Tier 2

  1. Go to Profile → Trading limits

  2. Tap "Unlock higher limits"

  3. Upload a valid Proof of Address document

  4. Wait for approval — you'll receive an email once it's done (1–3 business days)

Frequently asked questions

Does buying and selling both count toward my limit?
Yes. Both buying and selling Bitcoin count toward your €10,000 lifetime trading limit on Relai EU.

I'm close to my €10,000 limit — can I still trade while my PoA document is being reviewed?

Yes. You can continue trading up to your €10,000 lifetime limit while your Proof of Address document is under review. Trading above €10,000 only becomes available once your document is approved, which takes 1–3 business days.

My savings plan is on hold / paused — what do I do?
If you've reached your €10,000 lifetime limit, your savings plan orders are temporarily paused. Each pending order waits up to 4 days before expiring, then a new order is scheduled on your next execution date. To resume your plan without interruption, upload a Proof of Address document from Profile → Trading limits.

Can I upload a PoA document before I hit the limit?
Yes. You can proactively upload a Proof of Address document at any time from Profile → Trading limits — no need to wait until you're close to your limit.

My address verification failed — what should I do?
If you're unable to complete address verification, you'll be prompted to upload a Proof of Address document or contact our Support team for assistance.
