This Relai Migration FAQ explains the upcoming migration of EU customers from Relai AG (Switzerland) to Relai EU (France). It is designed to give you clear, practical answers about what changes, what stays the same, and what your rights are.

It does not replace our legal documents. Instead, it helps you understand the migration in simple language, so you know what to expect and where to find key information.

For more details, always refer to the official Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and all the attached documents.

🔄 What does “migration” mean?

It means EU customers will switch from being served by Relai AG (Switzerland) to Relai EU (France), a company licensed under MiCA regulation.

🧡 Important: Relai is non-custodial. Your bitcoin stays in your wallet. Migration changes your service provider and data controller, not your funds.

❌ No

Relai AG (Switzerland)

📲 How does it work?

You'll receive emails and get an in-app notification.

👉 Just read the new Documents (Terms & Conditions, Pricing Policy and Privacy Policy) and accept the new Terms & Conditions. No new wallet or account needed. That’s it. You're migrated.

❌ What if I don’t accept the new Terms?

You won’t be able to buy or sell bitcoin via Relai anymore by the end of March 2026.

🔒 But don’t worry: your Bitcoin wallet is still 100% yours. Relai never had access anyway.

🕒 When does it happen?

You’ll be notified by:

  • ✉️ Email

  • 📱 Relai App

  • 🌐 Relai Website

📅 You’ll have 90 days from the moment Relai EU got its MiCA license to accept the new Terms. This means that you will have time to do so by [END OF GRACE PERIOD].

🔁 Can I switch back?

No. Once migrated, EU customers will be served by Relai EU only.

As a consumer under French law, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date you accept the new Terms, without giving any reason (Code de la consommation Art. L221-18). How to exercise it: send an email to [email protected] with the subject “Withdrawal from New Terms” and include:

  • Your full name and Relai account email

  • I exercise my right of withdrawal from the new Terms accepted on [date].

  • Today’s date

If you withdraw, you won’t be able to buy/sell bitcoin via Relai, but your self-custodial wallet always remains under your sole control.

Using Relai does not oblige you to buy or sell Bitcoin at any time (see Terms). You can keep the app and your wallet without making any transactions.

You can exercise your GDPR rights at any time (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability).

Erase my data: email [email protected] with the subject “Erasure request (Article 17 GDPR)” and include your account email.

🏦 Where do I find the new EU IBAN?

As part of the migration, EU customers will receive a new EU IBAN for deposits.

  • This IBAN belongs to Relai EU (France), the new licensed entity under MiCA.

  • It will replace the old Swiss IBAN for EU customers.

  • You’ll use this EU IBAN to fund your Bitcoin purchases once the migration is live.

Swiss customers are not affected and will continue using the existing Swiss IBAN.

You can find the new IBAN in the Relai app by tapping on any active order.
