To restore your wallet you need your 12-word recovery seed phrase.

Each recovery phrase follows the BIP39 standard and should be stored securely in an offline location to prevent unauthorized access or loss.

Follow these steps to restore your wallet:

  1. Download or re-install the Relai app.

  2. Tap on 'Get Started' if re-installing, or 'Log in' if already installed.

  3. Enter the email address linked to your Relai account (Make sure to type it in lowercase).

  4. Confirm your email address by entering the 6-digit code sent to your email inbox.

  5. Next, you’ll be asked to scan your face to complete the Multi-Factor Authentication login.

  6. Then, enter your 12-word recovery phrase in the correct order to restore your wallet.

Important

If you enter your 12-word recovery phrase incorrectly – even if just one word is wrong or in the wrong order – you won’t restore your original wallet.

Instead, you will receive an error message indicating that you are trying to restore a different wallet.

Double-check every word and its order carefully to ensure you regain access to your wallet. You can verify the correct spelling of your seed phrase words using the official BIP39 word list.

If the phrase isn’t being accepted, ensure that all words are correctly spelled and belong to the BIP39 list. Verify the order of the words and check for typos or omitted words.

If you encounter issues like a forgotten PIN, failed facial recognition attempts, or errors during standard recovery, your 12-word recovery phrase remains the primary method for wallet restoration. If your recovery phrase fails to work, try app-based troubleshooting, such as restarting your phone, reinstalling the Relai app, or adjusting your phone’s font size. For more significant issues, consider restoring your Relai wallet in any compatible non-custodial wallet using your recovery phrase.
