Proof of Address (POA) Document Requirements
As part of the verification process, you’ll also need to provide a Proof of Address (POA) document to confirm your residential address.
Accepted POA Documents:
Bank statement (must be a standard statement, not a certificate of account ownership)
Utility bill (electricity, water, gas, internet, etc.)
Local tax authority bill
Certificate of residence
Bank statement examples include multilingual banks like Revolut or N26, known for providing English-language statements.
Utility bills can also be requested in accepted languages from providers in certain regions.
POA Document Requirements:
Issued within the last 3 months
Clearly shows your full name and current residential address
All four corners of the document must be visible
Must be in German, Italian, French, or English
For documents in unsupported languages, contact your bank or utility provider to request English-language versions or use a digital bank that provides multilingual statements.
Must be the original unedited document file or a picture taken of the original printed document.
Not Accepted:
Screenshots or scanned documents
Digitally altered or edited images
Photos taken from another screen, computer, or device
Documents in languages other than German, Italian, French, or English
Pay stubs/payslips
Rental agreements
If your document is in an unsupported language, you are encouraged to reach out to your document provider, such as your bank or utility service, for alternative language versions or explore options like digital banks issuing English-language documents.
Steps to Resolve Language Issues
Contact Your Bank: Request English-language statements or account confirmations.
Use a Digital Bank: Neobanks like Revolut or N26 offer multilingual statements.
Utility Providers: Check with providers for acceptable language options on bills. Taking these steps helps ensure compliance with POA language requirements and smoothens the verification process.
Uploading Your POA Document
Upload the original document file directly in the app during the verification process.
No Screenshots or Scans: Screenshots or scanned documents are not accepted. Only unedited original files or a picture of the physical printed-out document with all four corners visible are allowed.
Digital Alterations: We cannot accept any form of digital alteration or obscuring of information on the document. If you need to hide sensitive data, you may print the document, cover the relevant information with small pieces of paper, take a clear photo, and then submit it to us.
